If you thought there might be a tiny drop in the excitement levels of Trabzonspor supporters after the party that welcomed Mohamed Salah’s arrival in Turkey on Wednesday evening, you would be wrong.The club announced in a social media post at roughly 12pm (midday) Turkish time that Salah’s official unveiling would take place at 7:30pm that evening. They encouraged as many supporters to come and “witness history” at Papara Park.Many of those who welcomed Salah when he arrived in Turkey yesterday evening will undoubtedly have made sure they were packed inside a stadium bursting with both anticipation and jubilation.Salah’s name was plastered across every electronic advertising board sandwiched between a sea of maroon and blue shirts. One supporter had the 34-year-old’s name painted on his face. Another wore a Salah mask. One fan had even daubed a pair of sunglasses with the Egypt international’s name.The lights show was in full effect as they waited. Songs were belted out — including a tune dedicated to him — and flares were lit as they waited.Nothing could compare, though, to the cacophony of noise that welcomed Salah when he emerged from the tunnel and entered the pitch wearing the No.10 shirt and oversized jeans. The wall of maroon and blue had turned to red with so many flares lit — it looked like the stadium was ablaze.
