Several people were killed and injured when an explosive device detonated aboard a passenger minibus in Jaramana, in the Damascus countryside, on Thursday, Syrian state media reported, Anadolu reports.
State-run Al-Ikhbariya TV said the explosive device exploded inside the minibus, killing and injuring several people, but did not provide an initial casualty toll or further details about the circumstances of the blast.
The Syrian Interior Ministry and security authorities had not issued an official statement at the time of publication, and no group immediately claimed responsibility.
Syria’s state news agency SANA cited Najib al-Naasan, director of the Referral, Ambulance and Emergency Directorate at the Health Ministry, who said sayig seven people were injured in the explosion.
Al-Naasan said forensic teams were dealing with human remains found at the scene in accordance with established procedures.
