Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, prominent Lagos businessman and husband of Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, passed away on August 5 at the age of 62, according to an official family statement released in Lagos.
The news of his passing was formally announced in a statement signed by C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family. Known fondly as Niyi by close friends and business associates, his death has drawn tributes from across Nigeria’s corporate and political landscapes.
In their official message, the family expressed deep grief while leaning on their Christian faith to process the loss.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them’ (Revelation 14:13),” the statement read.
The family extended heartfelt thanks to well-wishers, colleagues, and members of the public who have shared prayers and support, while requesting time and space to mourn privately.
