Toronto, ON - July 23: A controversial development planned near Gravenhurst is being met with resistance from much of the community. The project would bring hotels, restaurants, spas and residential units to a location adjacent to Muskoka Bay. The plan is to build on the site of an abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium, but residents are concerned that the province sold the land with a condition for a Minister’s Zoning Order, which gives the developer carte blanche do as the please and override local planning processes.
