Hilary Duff will always remember the day of her first show at Madison Square Garden. Not only did the star welcome Good Charlotte to sing “The Anthem” with ex-boyfriend Joel Madden and his brother, Benji Madden, she also revealed during the set that her daughter had been in the emergency room that morning. (Don’t worry, she’s OK!)
In videos from the Wednesday night (Aug. 5) concert in New York City, the Lizzie McGuire alum asked fans to give the “warmest welcome to [her] friends” before the rockers joined her on stage, at which point she gave them hugs. A clip captured by Billboard that Good Charlotte shared on Instagram shows how the group proceeded to rock out to the band’s 2003 hit, which peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in the day.
