A ‘Dharma Rakshana Yagnam’ will be conducted at Sri Shakti Peetham on Rayalacheruvu Road in Tirupati from August 8 as a measure to restore Dharma (righteousness) across the globe. The event will be conducted with the blessings of founder pontiff Sri Siddheswarananda Bharathi Mahaswamiji, and under the guidance of the chief pontiff Sri Ramyananda Bharathi Swamini. After the formal launch, a ‘Praja Homam’ will be performed daily in two sessions, between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., and 4.30 p.m. and 6 p.m., in which the public are allowed.Unlike a conventional ‘Homam’, this ritual allows every devotee to personally offer ‘Homa Dravyam’ (divine offerings) into the pyre, under the guidance of qualified Vedic Acharyas.Addressing a media conference here on Thursday, the Peetham’s coordinator I. Sudhamayee and manager N. Prasad Babu said that the participants could join a collective oath ‘Sankalpam’ for the protection of Sanatana Dharma, social harmony and universal welfare.“They may also offer individual prayers for family welfare, health, education, employment, prosperity, marriage, children, success in important undertakings and other auspicious aspirations”, added its secretary K.
