In a post on Sydney's social media accounts, they said: "We will always love you so much Sydney."I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you." The post included a picture of Sydney smiling on a mountain, accompanied by a "rest in peace" message and another one reading "An endless ray of sunshine. A daughter, sister and friend to so many."The model suffered from stage four cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer that affects the bile ducts. She was diagnosed in 2022, when she was 23 years old.The disease usually affects older adults, making Sydney's diagnosis exceptionally uncommon. The model appeared at Miami Swim Week at the end of May, marking her first time strutting down a catwalk.Only on Tuesday, her brother, Austin Towle, revealed in a TikTok that his sister had been moved into hospice care. Alongside a picture of Sydney's family and friends surrounding her hospice bed, Austin wrote: "Sydney has been moved into hospice and is surrounded by her friends and family. Thank you for all your love and support."Sydney was very open about her diagnosis on social media, where she was followed by 1.1million accounts.
