Aug. 6 (UPI) -- The Indianapolis Colts agreed to a two-year, $44 million contract extension with running back Jonathan Taylor.
Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and the Indianapolis Star about the agreement Thursday. The pact is worth up to $47 million and includes $39 million guaranteed.
Taylor, who led the NFL with 20 touchdowns last season, is now under contract with the Colts through 2028. He was entering the final year of the three-year, $42 million contract extension, which he signed in 2023.
With his new pact, Taylor will rank second among running backs in average annual salary ($22 million), trailing only Atlanta Falcons star Bijan Robinson ($22.25 million).
