The Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress in Gombe State, Abdulrahman Buba Zaune, has resigned his membership of the party with immediate effect.
Zaune conveyed his decision in a resignation letter dated August 5, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of the ADC in Zaune Ward, Dukku Local Government Area of the state.
In the letter, sighted by our correspondent on Thursday, the former publicity secretary thanked the party for the opportunity to serve at various levels, including the local government, state and national levels.
“I sincerely appreciate the political party for the opportunity to serve in different capacities at the local government, state and national levels. I therefore wish the party well,” Zaune stated. Although Zaune did not disclose his next political destination in the resignation letter, his exit has triggered speculation that he may defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
