A black Nissan Juke with masked men inside reversed down the concourse of Wetherby Services on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire as they targeted cash machines12:01, 06 Aug 2026Updated 12:09, 06 Aug 2026Masked Men Wetherby-Wild footage shows masked men ploughing their car into a motorway service station before raiding an ATM and slot machines.Passer-by Rupon Miah, 34, says he filmed the black Nissan Juke reversing down the concourse of Wetherby Services on the A1(M), North Yorkshire, at 2am on July 29.The ATM machine is seen to be visibly damaged, as men in balaclavas exit the car and open its boot before heading into the services’ slot machine area.“I literally came out of the toilet at the service station and saw the car basically drive into the service station and was ramming the ATM with the car," Rupon, from London, said.“I started recording after they rammed the first machine. I saw four males all get out of the car with masks on, balaclavas. They were just raiding the slot machine game room in the service station.“Basically after that I went outside and walked to my car and saw them driving off with the ATM machine in the boot of their car with the boot open."North Yorkshire Police confirmed the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and there have been no arrests at this stage. Posting on their Facebook page on July 29, the force stated: "Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a theft involving cash machines at Wetherby Services in the early hours of this morning."The incident occurred at approximately 2am today (Wednesday 29 July). A black vehicle, believed to be an older-model Nissan Juke, was driven into the services through doors near the M&S Food store. The vehicle was then used to repeatedly ram a standalone ATM."Four men wearing face coverings and gloves were involved. Two of the suspects then attached what is believed to have been a chain to an “&PLAY” cash pay-out machine, which was pulled free using the vehicle. The machine was subsequently loaded into the rear of the Nissan Juke."A Nissan Juke has since been recovered in the Leeds area. The vehicle had been set on fire and the stolen cash machine was found inside. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the Nissan Juke travelling between Wetherby and Leeds between 1am and 5am, or has any information that could assist the investigation."In particular, detectives would like to identify and speak to three men who may have witnessed the incident and could hold information relevant to enquiries. They are urged to come forward as soon as possible."We would like to emphasise that, at this stage, we believe these men are witnesses and do not believe they were involved in the offence.
