Strictly Come Dancing have announced Emmerdale's Lawrence Robb as their 12th contestant, who will compete alongside fellow soap star EastEnders' Lacey Turner11:09, 06 Aug 2026Updated 11:24, 06 Aug 2026Lawrence Robb is swapping the dales for dancing as he is going to compete on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing. The Emmerdale star will take part when the series returns in the autumn, as will soap star Lacey Turner.‌When he was announced as part of the line-up, Lawrence said: "I don't know who’s more excited about this, me or my Mother. I can't quite believe that I am going to be getting my dancing shoes on this September on one of my favourite shows of all time! It's a dream come true, and I can't wait to bring my all to ballroom. Wish me luck, and any advice is very welcome - trust me I’ll need it!”‌‌Lawrence is best known for his role in ITV's Emmerdale as Mackenzie 'Mack' Boyd, now a popular member of the show's iconic Dingle family. Since joining the series six years ago, Lawrence has been at the centre of many of the show’s most explosive and talked-about storylines – affairs, kidnap, murder, and this year's landmark Coronation Street crossover series, Corriedale.The news comes just a day after the BBC's dance show announced Graeme 'The Dogfather' Hall as part of the line-up. The ITV star, who is best known for providing advice about caring for dogs on ITV's morning show, said: "I can't believe I am joining the cast of Strictly for 2026. I have always loved dancing, so to have the opportunity to learn from the best in the business is a dream come true. I have watched the show for years, so to be a part of it feels like a very exciting challenge, albeit more than a bit nerve-wracking! I can't wait to get started. Bring it on!"Football legend Shaun Wright-Phillips has also been announced. All three stars will compete against House of the Dragon star Bethany Antonia, and two EastEnders stars - Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, and Jaime Winstone, who portrayed Peggy Mitchell in a flashback episode after playing Barbara Windsor herself in a BBC biopic.‌Paralympian Sarah Storey will compete as well, as will Will Best, Big Brother's presenter. “I’ve been lucky to do lots of live telly before, but absolutely nothing like this. And I cannot wait!" Will said.“I have no idea if I can actually dance, but bring on the sequins, bring on the quicksteps, bring on the dance floor! I’m going to try to enjoy every minute of it.”‌Other names include Love Island's Dani Dyer and Cach Mercer, Kim Kardashian's hairdresser Chris Appleton and Eurovision star Delta Goodrem. Dani was supposed to compete last year but withdrew due to injury as was replaced by fellow Love Island winner Amber Davies.This year seems to be shaping up to be different than any other, as professional dancers Gorka Marquez Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova, Michelle Tsiakkas and Luba Mushtuk have all parted ways with the show. Johannes Radebe, who was a pro dancer last year, has stayed with the show, but will take on a new role, as he has been announced as one of the presenters.He will present the show alongside Josh Widdicombe and Emma Willis.
