Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday presented the myAGRO app for managing agricultural subsidies.
Mitsotakis said that this was a platform offers a very simple application process, enabling interoperative capabilities, with both the Land Cadastre and the data of the tax authorities.
Commenting on the vast EU farm subsidy scandal, he said the results of the government’s efforts to restore credibility in the state have vindicated the government’s “bold and difficult decision” 15 months ago to incorporate the functions of the old OPEKEPE agency, the body responsible for the distribution of EU aid, into the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE).
“It was a necessary decision, which addressed the longstanding weaknesses in the payments of agricultural and livestock farming subsidies to Greek farmers. Today we are in the pleasant position to feel vindicated by this decision,” he said, thanking the officials responsible for promptly completing the processes required.
The advance payment to farmers will be paid by October 31 and that for the rest of the applications, payments will take place by November 30, he added.
