KwaDukuza Magistrate's Court, where a French national is facing charges of rape and sexual assault linked to an incident at Club Med South Africa, with an inset of the resort at Tinley Manor on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast, where the incident happened.
A KwaZulu-Natal beach resort manager says the teenage guest he is accused of raping had been more than happy to jump into bed with him, even pulling down his own pants and asking for oral sex.
The 35-year-old Frenchman told the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court, through his attorney Anand Nepaul, that he had indeed performed the act on the 18-year-old and that it had been consensual.
He said the incident happened in his staff flat, 300m from the room where the teenager's parents lay fast asleep.
But the young man, according to court documents, said there was nothing eager about him at all, and that the manager had by then given him so much alcohol to drink that he was “paralysed” and could do nothing to stop his pants being pulled down and oral sex being performed on him.
