The US-Ukraine intelligence-sharing relationship has significantly improved since Washington briefly suspended intelligence cooperation in March 2025, helping Kyiv conduct more effective long-range strikes against targets inside Russia, Politico reported. Since then, the intelligence partnership has rebounded, according to US lawmakers and experts cited by Politico, returning to levels seen before the suspension. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the renewed cooperation has helped strengthen Ukraine’s position in Russia’s war. “I don’t want to get into any specifics, but it has improved,” Warner told Politico’s NatSec Daily. “That, combined with I think, the really smart, long-range drone strategy has really improved the Ukrainians’ position.” Republican senators also said intelligence cooperation between Washington and Kyiv has increased. “Everybody loves a winner and looks like Ukraine has turned the tide,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told Politico. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he noticed stronger communication between the two countries during visits to Ukraine.
