PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – A woman was killed, and eight other people were injured in a seven-vehicle collision along the national highway in Purok Bougainvilla, Barangay Upper Pulacan in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, on Wednesday afternoon.
Capt. Derf Jay Maquinta, spokesperson of the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO), said the smashup occurred at around 2:40 p.m. when a Mitsubishi Canter closed van truck traveling from Davao City toward Zamboanga City allegedly suffered brake failure while ascending a portion of the highway.

The truck rolled backward and eventually crashed with a TVS (bao-bao) tricycle. The others involved in the accident were two payong-payong tricycles, a minivan, a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle, and a bus.
