KARACHI: The government raised Rs939 billion through the auction of treasury bills on Wednesday, reflecting no change in borrowing trend.
The State Bank of Pakistan released the auction data, showing that banks and other corporates were eager to invest in the most secure government papers, with total bids reaching Rs2.287 trillion.
However, the government borrowed Rs564bn through T-bill auctions while it raised Rs375bn through non-competitive bids.
The bidding trend shows that the investors were more interested in both short-term and long-term investments, as they offered Rs811bn for one-month T-bills and Rs684bn for 12-month papers.
