On the night of August 5, BookChef’s reserve warehouse came under a Russian missile strike—over 100,000 more books were destroyed.

According to Ukrinform, BookChef reported this on Instagram.

“Last night, our backup warehouse at the facility of our logistics partner, Denka Logistics—which had recently begun operations following the destruction of our main warehouse—was hit by a missile strike. During the previous attack, our central warehouse was damaged, but we still had a small backup warehouse where some of our books were stored,” the publishing house stated.

“The fire destroyed over 100,000 more books from BookChef. These were all our remaining stock and new releases that had only recently arrived from the printing presses and were supposed to be in your hands very soon,” the publishing house reported.

An assessment of the attack’s consequences is ongoing.
