The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma

Nigeria National League stakeholders will converge on Owerri, Imo State, on Friday, August 21, 2026, for the league’s 17th Annual General Meeting, with preparations for the 2026/27 season expected to dominate proceedings, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

All 36 participating clubs are expected to arrive in the state on Thursday, August 20, ahead of the meeting and depart on Saturday, August 22.

NNL Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, confirmed that Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, had approved the state’s hosting of the meeting.

“We are delighted that the sports-loving Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has magnanimously approved NNL’s request to host our AGM. This is one of the most important events in our calendar,” Alanana said.
