Wreckage from a Russian Geran-2 attack drone was discovered near the village of Văleni in southern Moldova on Wednesday, adding to a growing series of Russian drone incidents spilling beyond Ukraine’s borders. Police recovered and documented the fragments, which will now undergo forensic examination. Explosives and technical specialists are investigating how the drone ended up on Moldovan territory and the circumstances surrounding the incident. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage associated with the discovery. The incident comes as Russia continues launching large-scale drone and missile attacks against Ukraine, particularly targets in the country’s south near Moldova and Romania. Earlier this year, Moldovan authorities recovered other suspected Russian drones, including one found near Tudora in March that officials said was carrying explosives.
