Portuguese football legend and former FIFA World Player of the Year, Luís Figo, has publicly demanded the resignation of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, accusing him of deceiving the football world, abusing his office and putting personal interests above the game amid the growing controversy surrounding a now-abandoned proposed $20 billion commercialization of FIFA's flagship tournaments.
Figo made the demand in a post on X on Wednesday, August 5, becoming the latest high-profile football figure to openly distance himself from Infantino as opposition mounts against the FIFA president's leadership.
