A woman identified as Wasilat, popularly known on TikTok as Adeola Ti O Care, has denied widespread social media reports claiming she died after allegedly seeing the Oloolu masquerade procession in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In a viral video obtained by SaharaReporters, Wasilat said she was alive and narrated how she was allegedly arrested, compelled to undergo traditional rituals, had her hair shaved against her will, and was forced to pay ₦400,000 following a TikTok post about the Oloolu festival.
Speaking in Yoruba in the video, which SaharaReporters translated into English, Wasilat said the controversy began after she recorded a video from inside her room showing operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, alongside other people in the area.
