President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the successful rescue of 308 Nigerians who were abducted in separate attacks in Kwara and Niger states, describing the operation as the largest single-day rescue mission ever conducted by Nigeria's joint security forces
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the victims were rescued during a coordinated, intelligence-driven operation carried out by the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force.
The statement disclosed that 163 of the rescued victims had been abducted from Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, while the remaining 145 victims were rescued after being kidnapped in Niger State.
