Molly Ringwald’s experience starring in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” was tarnished by one bad apple on set.
The veteran actress was a guest on the Aug. 4 episode of Andy Cohen’s Bravo talk show “Watch What Happens Live,” which is known for posing revealing questions during games with celebrity guests.
During a round of “Spill the IMDB Tea,” Cohen asked Ringwald to rank some of her past work on a scale of 1 to 10 based on her experience. She put the drama series, which starred Shailene Woodley as a pregnant teenager who is the daughter of Ringwald’s character, at the bottom of the ranking.
“The worst is ‘one’? OK, that was it. The worst,” Ringwald says. “It was a hard, I mean … OK, I love the cast. I love Shailene [Woodley]. There was one person that was really difficult. And I’m not gonna say who that one person is, [but] they brought it down to a one.”
“Secret Life” ran from 2008-2013, and Ringwald was a series regular for the first four seasons and a special guest star during the show’s fifth and final season. Ken Baumann, Mark Derwin, India Eisley, Greg Finley and Steve Schirripa also starred on the show.
