LOS ANGELES, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- If Broken Lizard were around in the '80s, we might have Super Troopers 7 by now. These days, Super Troopers 3, in theaters Friday, is the third in 25 years but at least we have not been subject to Citizens on Patrol or Assignment Miami Beach.

Thorny's (Jay Chandrasekhar) sister Sarita (Hannah Simone) comes to visit Vermont and falls in love with Farva (Kevin Heffernan). Their impending wedding provides a plot for further character shenanigans.

All of the Vermont highway patrol officers (Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, Paul Soter) get a subplot to focus on for a few scenes each, inasmuch as the plot is always there on which to hang comic set pieces. A new superdrug making its way south from the Canadian border does the job in that regard.

Farva being gross and making Thorny uncomfortable by being with his sister is a sound comedic structure. He even participates in an Indian dance number with Sarita, specifically Telugu not Bollywood, and the film has a cute subtitle not being touted in marketing.
