OpenClaw failed on Windows installer UI; Ninite + WinGet + Claude planning beat full agent control. Lesson for IT managers: AI handles ambiguous planning well, scripts handle deterministic execution better. Hybrid beats pure agent automation on cost, speed, and debuggability.

It looked clever for about two minutes.
Then I watched OpenClaw get stuck on installer checkboxes, pause on modal windows, and generally do the digital equivalent of forgetting why it walked into the room.
While it was still fighting one installer, I switched tactics:
