Multiple people were killed Wednesday morning in a mass shooting at a home in North Carolina, authorities said. The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a home located at 352 Brooks Road in Prospect Hill, a town about 28 miles north of Durham, just before 8 a.m., the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said. Deputies found “multiple” people who had been shot. One of the victims was transported to Duke University Hospital with a gunshot wound, but there were several other fatalities, the agency said. It was not immediately clear how many people were killed. Authorities did not share any details about the victims, including their names or ages. It was also unclear if authorities had identified or arrested a suspect. However, in the aftermath, authorities insisted that there was “NO THREAT” to the public.
