A Mexican influencer has been shot dead while livestreaming on social media outside a fast food restaurant in Sinaloa state.Cesar Gastelum, who had more than 600,000 followers on TikTok and was famous for his comedy stunts, was broadcasting with two friends - all dressed as food delivery workers as part of a challenge.Video circulating online showed a motorcycle carrying two people pull up beside them before the driver reportedly shot Gastelum in the head, whose death was later confirmed by local police.It is the latest in a string of attacks on Mexican influencers, which are allegedly connected to gang violence.Earlier this week, a renowned cartel boss, Ramon Angel Alvarez Ayala, was arrested and accused of ordering a hitman to murder 23-year-old influencer Valeria Marquez while she livestreamed from her salon because she had broken up with his son.Gastelum's livestream was halted and later removed by TikTok, though footage and images of the attack have continued to circulate.Local police initially reported the death of a delivery worker, likely due to their brightly coloured jackets and delivery-style backpacks, but later identified the victim as Gastelum, who was reportedly 25 years old.The attack took place in a busy shopping plaza near the Sinaloa prosecutor's office in Culiacan, the state capital. El R1's son, Francisco Alvarez, is said to have phoned his father and asked to arrange the hit.Marquez had also previously claimed that she was being threatened, claiming that her ex-boyfriend should be held 'responsible for anything that happens to me and my family.'
