Netflix on Wednesday unveiled the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, a multi-phase investment programme aimed at strengthening India's creative talent pipeline through partnerships with key Indian institutions, as the streaming giant reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the country's creative economy.The announcement came after Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the growing global influence of Indian storytelling and the company's plans to deepen its investment in India's creative ecosystem.Also Read: 'There could be no Netflix globally without India': Ted Sarandos on growth, cricket and AIThe initiative will focus on equipping the next generation of storytellers with industry-relevant skills across the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) ecosystem. Netflix said the programme supports the government's Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision by strengthening education, industry partnerships and creator capability development.The first phase includes a partnership with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) to co-develop curricula in visual effects and media technology workflows and provide 100 scholarships for in-person programmes in emerging creative disciplines.
