Farah Dagogo, a former member of the House of Representatives for Degema Federal Constituency, has blamed the Nyesom Wike-led Rainbow Coalition for stagnating development in Rivers State.
Dagogo, who insists he is the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Rivers State, said the coalition members’ high-handedness will be tested at the next general elections.
His comments followed repeated efforts by Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to present his Rainbow Coalition — an amalgam of state chapters of more than four political parties — as the leading political force in the state.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting, Dagogo described the coalition as an assemblage of political interests that have entrenched stagnation and prioritised personal gain over the development of Rivers State.
He said, “The truth is, it is the Rainbow Coalition against the entire Rivers State. The Rainbow Coalition people are bearers of the chain of bondage militating against the state. They are a gathering of those who have benefited from the retrogression of our state and are determined to keep it that way.”
