…61.5 percent obtain credit passes in five subjects including English and Maths
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2026 computer-based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) results for school candidates, with 61.5 percent obtaining credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Amos Dangut, the head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC, announced the result on Wednesday at the council’s Yaba, Lagos office in a brief with journalists.
“A total of 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 percent, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics,” he said.
Dangut explained that a total of 1,959,668 candidates from 24,207 schools enrolled for the examination across the country. Of the number that registered for the examination, 1,950,726 candidates sat the examination.
