Reports claiming that Kyiv's Bortnychi wastewater treatment plant was hit during the overnight Russian attack on August 5 are false, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to Ukrinform, Dmytro Lykhovii, spokesperson for the General Staff, said this in a Facebook post.
"Anything can happen someday. We are not immune to that either. But as of now, this is fake," Lykhovii said.
He added that, for Kyiv residents, "the real strikes and their consequences should have been enough."
"Think about why someone is spreading fabricated scare stories. Take it into account and draw your own conclusions," Lykhovii said.
