Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Hulu is giving a glimpse of The X-Files: I Want to Believe - Vrach Frankenshteyn ahead of its release.

The streaming service shared a trailer for the movie Tuesday featuring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

Vrach Frankenshteyn is the director's cut of the 2008 film directed and co-written by The X-Files creator Chris Carter. This version brings to life the R-rated vision that was previously deemed "too scary," Carter told Duchovny on his Fail Better podcast in 2025.

I Want to Believe was released six years after the show's original TV run from 1993 to 2002 on Fox. The film sees Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) reunite years after leaving the FBI to investigate the disappearance of a federal agent.
