Anthropic‘s AI chatbot Claude experienced an outage on Wednesday, with users reporting difficulties accessing the service as reports of disruptions surged on social media.
Downdetector Records Spike in Reports
Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages by collecting user-submitted reports, showed a sharp spike in user reports, indicating widespread issues affecting Claude users. The outage appeared to impact multiple versions of Anthropic’s latest Claude models.
Anthropic did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for an update.
In an update posted on its status page, Anthropic said it had identified the cause of the issue and was working to restore service.
