CVS beat Wall Street expectations by a wide margin in the second quarter and raised its full-year profit forecast to as much as $8.10 per share
CVS Health $CVS announced a collaboration with Eli Lilly $LLY on Wednesday as the company reported second-quarter net income of nearly $3 billion and raised its full-year outlook by a wide margin.
Net income for the quarter ended June 30 came in at $2.98 billion, or $2.31 per share, a sharp improvement from $1.02 billion, or 80 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted earnings came to $2.58 per share. Analysts had expected adjusted earnings of $1.85 per share, according to CNBC.
Revenue rose to $106.10 billion, up about 7% from the year-ago period. Analysts had expected $100.11 billion, according to CNBC.
