Without skipping a beat after dropping the Hailey Bieber jeans, Gap is back with more big news. Last week, the brand revived its beloved scents from the ’90s and brought a new fragrance into the fold. Dream, Heaven, Grass, and Om are reformulations, and Harmony is the fifth and latest scent developed with DSM-Firmenich perfumers Honorine Blanc and Nicole Mancini. While I was a little too young to spritz the originals myself, I very much considered myself a mall rat growing up: I could probably map out exactly where the Gap was in the local mall I spent many summers running around as a preteen. So I was very excited to hear the retailer was making its way back to the beauty world. I called in the line to test out the fragrances and was pleasantly surprised. Unlike the body sprays of my youth, these didn’t singe my nose hairs but still lasted a long time. I spritzed each one on my wrists and body in the mornings, and they were still very present in the late afternoon. (It’s worth noting the new versions are eaux de parfum, as opposed to the eaux de toilette of the ’90s.) Below are my thoughts on the new line.
