Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund has finalised a $55 billion acquisition of Electronic Arts, believed to be the largest leveraged buyout in history.

The deal will see EA delisted from the stock market and taken private, pending remaining customary closing conditions outlined in the merger agreement.

The investor consortium includes Affinity Partners, led by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.

The PIF manages more than $900 billion in assets and oversees 220 portfolio companies, with gaming among its key strategic sectors alongside AI and renewable energy.
