Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd has commissioned 52.8 MW of wind capacity in Dayapar, Gujarat, marking its entry into the state and advancing the second phase of its 99 MW Gujarat wind project being developed for Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL).The commissioned facility comprises 16 turbines and involved an investment of around ₹385 crore. It is part of Oyster Renewable’s larger 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid project for JSL, which includes 216 MW of solar capacity in Madhya Pradesh and 99 MW of wind capacity in Gujarat. The overall project entails an investment of over ₹2,000 crore.Compliance certificationThe company said commercial operations of the commissioned capacity began on July 30, 2026. The facility has received compliance certification under the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission’s Indian Electricity Grid Code, 2023, along with connectivity, communication and safety standards prescribed by the Central Electricity Authority. The remaining 14 turbines are expected to be commissioned progressively, taking the Gujarat wind facility to its full capacity of 99 MW. The complete 30-turbine Gujarat project is expected to involve an investment of around ₹725 crore.“This marks Oyster’s entry into Gujarat, and this second phase of commissioning takes our wind capacity in the state a step closer to full completion,” said Siddharth Bhatia, managing director and CEO, Oyster Renewable Energy. Once fully operational, the Gujarat facility is expected to help avoid nearly 92,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually, the company said.
