The US has reportedly used nearly 80% of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has dismissed reports claiming the Pentagon is running dangerously low on key missile interceptors, accusing the broadcaster of spreading “Fake News.”
“That banner is NOT TRUE. Shame on you,” Hegseth wrote on X, after CNN reported the US military had depleted nearly 80% of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors and around half of its Patriot missile inventory during the war with Iran.
Reuters also reported that the US Army “has used up much of its global stockpile of highly accurate long-range missiles during its five-month war with Iran.”
Citing multiple sources familiar with internal Pentagon assessments, CNN said senior military commanders warned that US munitions stockpiles are now “dangerously low.”
