The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid arrives in South Africa with a 341kW twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain.
Toyota’s Land Cruiser 300 hybrid is now available in South Africa, topping the line-up with a new powertrain that delivers more power while using less fuel.
The 3.5T Petrol HEV hybrid model launches in ZX guise with a price tag of R2,287,700, representing a premium of R96,400 over the regular 3.5T equivalent. A GR-S hybrid model is set to join the range later this year, priced at R2,343,800.
The new HEV models pair Toyota’s 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with the company’s compact hybrid system and a 10-speed automatic transmission, producing combined system outputs of 341kW and 790Nm. That represents an increase of 36kW and 140Nm over the non-hybrid V6 model. The 3.3-litre turbodiesel engine continues unchanged.
Toyota claims an average fuel consumption figure of 10 litres per 100km for the hybrid, an improvement of 2.1 l/100km over the regular 3.5T petrol model.
