—What. The United States is returning three pre-Hispanic artifacts to Mexico: a warrior figure, a stone bowl and an obsidian blade.

—The figure. A 91-centimeter clay warrior in the Ixtlán del Río style, dated 100 BC to 600 AD, from the Shaft Tomb tradition of western Mexico.

—Handover. The pieces were delivered to Mexico’s Consulate General in New York on 15 July 2026, after Manhattan trafficking probes.
