A new Springboks jersey for the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry Series was unveiled on Wednesday.

Nike and SA Rugby on Wednesday unveiled a Springboks jersey “like no other” for the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Tour.

The Springboks meet the All Blacks in the first of four Tests at Ellis Park on 22 August, ending a 30-year wait for the resumption of a Test series between the two great rugby nations — and they will do so in a specially commissioned jersey that honours the team’s connection to the people of South Africa.

At the heart of the jersey design is a subtle, tone-on-tone graphic featuring the lyrics of South Africa’s national anthem, Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika, printed in the shape of the South African flag.

The words in all five languages — Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, Afrikaans, and English — will be carried on the team’s chests as they represent the convergence of South Africa’s diverse voices, histories, and communities.
