The eThekwini Municipality’s Economic Development Incentive Policy (EDIP) highlights four key issues to create an enabling environment for investment.
The updated policy for implementation, effective from July 2026, sets out the municipality’s framework. The municipality believes that the EDIP leverages its status as South Africa’s second-largest industrial and economic hub to attract sustainable investment.
In addition, the policy places particular emphasis on the regeneration of the urban core and the revitalisation of secondary economic and transit-oriented development nodes.
