Rand Paul (R-Ky.) criticized the government’s COVID-19 response, arguing that lockdowns, mandates and pandemic-era restrictions revealed how quickly officials could limit individual freedoms during a crisis.

Paul Criticizes COVID Lockdowns On Tuesday, in a post on X, Paul said the pandemic exposed concerns about government authority and personal liberties.

He wrote, "COVID didn't just expose a virus.

It exposed how quickly Washington will strip away your basic freedoms the moment it's given an excuse." He pointed to several pandemic-era measures, including business closures, restrictions on religious gatherings and vaccine mandates, as examples of government overreach.
