NewsUK NewsTescoTwo teenage boys have been arrested following reports that a teenage girl was forced into a vehicle in a Tesco car park in Harlow, Essex09:11, 05 Aug 2026Updated 09:29, 05 Aug 2026Two teenage boys have been arrested following reports that a young girl was forced into a vehicle in a Tesco car park.‌A 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, and were released on bail following the arrests as enquiries continue, Essex Police said.‌The incident took place at around 6.50pm on August 3, starting in the Minton Lane car park at Tesco.‌Police said the vehicle then travelled to Epping, where the girl reported getting out of the car in Buckingham Road, at the junction with Lower Swaines, at around 7.30pm.Following the arrests, police thanked members of the public who assisted in the investigation and continued to appeal for information.Article continues belowIn an updated statement, DS Paul Marks said: "We understand this incident has caused concern in the community and I'd like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far."Based on our enquiries to date, we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the wider public.
