Vilnius City Municipality will no longer accept written requests or complaints submitted in Russian, it said on Tuesday.
The changes are presented as part of the capital’s integration plan for foreign residents aimed at strengthening the use of Lithuania’s official language.
The municipality also said it has removed Russian from its website and electronic queue management systems.
Mayor Valdas Benkunskas said the measures implement a policy adopted earlier this year to reinforce the use of Lithuanian in public services.
“We are consistently implementing the decision adopted in the spring to strengthen the use of the state language,” Benkunskas said in a statement.
