LOS ANGELES, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Ted Lasso told the story its creators intended in three seasons. Season 4, on Apple TV+ Wednesday, begins a new one while honoring the story they completed.

Ted (Jason Sudeikis) is no longer working in sports, but he is still personable with customers. He even teaches his colleagues valuable lessons and covers for them with the manager.

Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Keeley (Juno Temple) and Higgins (Jeremy Swift) visit Ted in Kansas and they catch up. There is an amusing culture clash of the Brits in Kansas, but that only lasts the first episode.

The trailers confirm Ted returns to England to coach AFC Richmond's women's team, but the series was about Ted getting back home. Season 4 takes that seriously even though the whole point is bringing Ted back to soccer after three years. It doesn't just contradict his departure.
