With the latest budget announcement, the financial assistance will increase by Rs 10,000, taking the total subsidy to Rs 35,000 for eligible first-time pilgrims.The announcement comes as Tamil Nadu prepares for Hajj 2026, for which 4,065 pilgrims have been selected from the state through the Hajj Committee. The state received 10,846 applications, making a draw of lots necessary to allocate the quota.The announcement was made as part of the Tamil Nadu government's first full Budget for the 2026-27 financial year.
