Four people were reported to have been killed by suspected armed herders in a renewed attack on Abaushwa community, Nzorov council ward of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
PUNCH Metro learnt on Tuesday that several others were reported to have sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack that happened on Monday.
A local source from the community explained that the attackers invaded the community at about the dead of night, attacking homes and killing victims in their sleep.
One of the residents who simply identified himself as Atoundo said there was no provocation to warrant the attack.
“They came and attacked the community without any provocation, killing people in their sleep. They forced open the doors of their victims and murdered them inside their houses.
