If convicted, the federal law cited in her case carries a possible prison sentence ranging from five to 20 years.Investigators allege Edwards called the George County Chancery Clerk’s Office 21 times between 1:34 p.m. and 1:42 p.m. on July 23 while using a blocked phone number. During those calls, she allegedly said, “Do not go outside,” “the clock is ticking,” and “die.”Authorities also say she called the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department twice using *67, a feature that hides the caller’s identity. The calls prompted deputies to lock down the building while a bomb detection dog searched the area.Federal investigators traced the calls after requesting records from telephone companies. Court documents say the phone number was linked to Edwards through a Cash App account and law enforcement records. Cell site data from that day also placed the phone in an area of Cincinnati where Edwards had two listed addresses.The charges against Edwards were unsealed on the same day a California man was arrested over separate bomb and death threats allegedly sent to a Mississippi Gulf Coast chancery judge connected to the wider Wells investigation.Edward Porter accused of threatening witness in Nolan Xavier Wells investigationFederal prosecutors also charged Edward Porter with transmitting threatening communication after he allegedly threatened a witness and another person in Mississippi.According to court documents, Porter texted a witness identified as “W-1” and claimed he knew where they lived by sending their home address. Investigators say he also threatened to kill the witness and their family members.The complaint further alleges Porter threatened another person, identified as “W-2,” by saying he would “cut them up and put them into a suitcase.” Investigators say Porter later called the witness again and claimed he was outside their home to kill them.Authorities traced the messages and calls to a Gulfport-area text-free number that allows internet-based communication. Information provided by Pinger allegedly connected the account to two IP addresses linked to Porter, including a Chicago-area phone number and a Maywood, Illinois, address. Investigators also found the account had been created on the same day the threats were made, while cell site data placed Porter’s iPhone at his Berwyn residence.Wells disappeared after traveling with friends by boat to Horn Island on July 4. His body was found on July 6 after his friends had already returned home. His death remains under investigation, no cause of death has been released, and the case is expected to go before a grand jury once investigators complete their work.
