NEW YORK — New York Yankees top prospect George Lombard Jr. crushed a home run for his first career hit Tuesday night.In his second at-bat of the night, Lombard hammered a solo shot to left field and was mobbed by his teammates in the dugout after putting the Yankees ahead, 2-0, in the fifth inning vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.

He blasted a sweeper that hung over the plate. It was a no-doubter, traveling 392 feet at 100.2 mph.
